台灣眼科學教授學術醫學會成立於民國94年2月16日，創會理事長洪伯廷教授。宗旨為提高我國眼科學的研究水準，促進其研究與教育，交換、聯誼會員間研究教育心得，以發展眼疾病之公共衛生設施與服務，社區視力保健，並參與國內外眼科學的研究教育活動。

Improve on level of research in ophthalmology. And promote their research and education, exchange, and networking experience among members, to develop public health facilities and services of eye diseases , community vision care, and participate in domestic and international ophthalmology research and education activities.
